This was a very straightforward and quick experience. Though previous appointments had been in Portree nearer my home ,this one was reasonably convenient provided I had someone to drive the 45 minutes home and it wasn't in wintry weather...a lot better than having to go to Inverness for a long wait and 3hr each way! Dr recalled anecdote from last time!

Dr Barras is an Excellent communicator but more importantly, he listens to his patient's comments and replies in a manner that is easy to understand. He has a first class ability to put you at ease and explains your problem, his diagnoses and his advised treatment in a straight forward language. Both my wife and I have been patients of his, for different reasons, and think he s exceptional as both of our treatments were very successful.

I arrrived at the eye clinic in great pain with acute iritis. I received extremely good care from the two clinic nurses and Dr Barras. At every stage, Dr Barras explained his observations and reasons for actions he was taking, and took time to answer all my questions. I appreciated the kindness, care and thoughtfulness of the team who responded quickly to the urgency of my condition. I felt the treatment given by Dr Barras, including laser treatment of my iris, was competently and efficiently done, and the follow up overnight in-patient stay was also efficiently handled.
